What is the Child Care Subsidy Program?
The Child Care Subsidy Program has been established to:
Help eligible low-income/single parent Alberta families pay child care costs for children enrolled in an Approved Family Day Home
Give eligible low-income families/single parents a choice of accessible and affordable child care services.
Promote family independence and support the family's goal for financial self-sufficiency, through work and training opportunities.
You can apply for subsidy if:
You and your spouse or cohabitating partner are Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents of Canada;
You live in Alberta;
You and your spouse or cohabitating partner have a "valid reason for care" (i.e. currently working, attending school, looking for work or have special needs);
You have established a placement in one of our Approved Family Day Homes.
If you or your spouse (married or common law) are self-employed or own a corporation then you must apply on a paper application form.
